California Auto Insurance

CA Auto InsuranceCalifornia auto insurance protects you against financial loss if you have an accident with your vehicle. It is a risk contract between you and the California insurance company.

The terms are that you agree to pay the premium and the California insurance company agrees to pay your losses as defined in your policy. These terms can vary considerably from policy to policy.

An auto insurance policy in California can be comprised of six different kinds of coverage. At a minimum, California auto insurance usually is comprised of property, liability and medical coverage. California property coverage pays for damage to your car or in the event of the theft of your car.

California liability insurance coverage pays for your legal responsibility to others for bodily injury or property damage arising from an accident. California medical coverage pays for the cost of treating injuries, rehabilitation and sometimes even lost wages and/or funeral expenses. If you're financing a car, your lender may also have requirements.
